Hello, everyone, my name is Ayleen, and I’m a freshman here at Missouri State. I am majoring in marketing with an emphasis in advertising and promotion. To get to know me a bit more, I am really into art. Everything that has to do with art I love: playing instruments, making music, painting, crafting, scrapbooking, CLOTHES, etc. I am also a huge bookworm. I love the classics, so if you need any recommendations, I am your person. On campus, I partake in 3 clubs. One of which is Sartorial, which helps enhance my perspective on art and pop culture. Another club is Bears Lead. This club is a fun way to make friends and interact with the community in Springfield.

If you’re reading this, you’re probably reading from the AMA website, which is another club I dedicate my time to. AMA is a fun career-advancing club, which I'll tell you more about later. One day, I hope to work in a marketing job in either fashion or sports marketing. Another long-term goal of mine is to help market a political campaign. I want everyone's voice to be heard, including mine, and hopefully help make a change. I have taken long strides towards my goals throughout the years. In high school, I held 3 internships. My first internship was with Blue Symphony, a tech and marketing agency, where I learned the basics and got the opportunity to pitch a business idea to an audience with 1000+ people in the crowd and placed top 7 out of 150+ businesses. My second internship was with my school district, where I helped host events, shoot content, edit, and publish. My third internship is the one I am currently in. I help market a soccer club by shooting, editing, and posting content. One of my New Year's resolutions is to bring this experience to AMA.

You're probably wondering why AMA is so amazing. I first heard about my favorite AMA member, Sarah Jeon. Sarah and I are both in Bears Lead and Sartorial, so it was fate that we became friends. Every time I would talk to Sarah about her busy schedule, I would always hear her talk about AMA, and she would always encourage me to join. So one Thursday night, I was feeling lonely in my dorm and decided to take up Sarah on her offer. This night in particular, it was a resume roast night.

One thing about me is that I love being in a room with people who have goals and help each other advance, and in this room full of AMA members, I found that. From that day on, I attended almost all AMA meetings. One meeting, we talked about running for exec, and with my experience, figured I'd give it a shot, I mean, why not? Let's YOLO it. Guess what, guys, I got the position! I am the VP of Social Platforms. My role is pretty straightforward: reaching our audience AND making it stick. My favorite part about my position is the amount of creative freedom I have, which is a huge mistake on their part because I love brainrot.

Since my time at AMA, I have expanded the number of platforms I use, which I have recently learned is really important. But apart from the cool stuff you're bound to learn, I have found a community of individuals who are funny and comforting to be around. There are many times when I have had a horrible day, and coming to the meetings cheers me up. Since being at college, I have learned that these communities are not common to find if you're a selective introvert like me. When you come to the meetings, because this is not an ‘If ‘ situation, WHEN you come to the meetings, be yourself. I can promise you that we have a spot for you.
