This spring, the Missouri State University AMA Chapter had the incredible opportunity to attend the AMA International Collegiate Conference (ICC) in New Orleans, Louisiana, a weekend packed with learning, networking, and unforgettable experiences. From competing in marketing challenges to exploring the vibrant culture of NOLA, our chapter made the most of every moment.
A Conference Full of Growth & Achievement
The AMA ICC is the premier event for collegiate marketers, offering keynote sessions, workshops, and competitions designed to sharpen skills and inspire innovation. Our chapter took full advantage, diving into sessions on marketing, branding, leadership, and more.
Some Highlights from Our Time at ICC:
2nd Place in Marketing Simulation - Our team crushed the competition, showcasing strategic thinking and creativity in a real-world marketing challenge.
Student-Led Sessions - Two of our own, Sage Canon (Vice President of Programming) and Peyton Smith (Vice President of Finance), were featured speakers in the fundraising session, sharing their expertise with peers nationwide.
Hosting the Student Agency Networking Blitz - We facilitated connections between students from across the country, exchanging agency management strategies and best practices.
Top 30 Finish Overall – Receiving recognition across Professional Development, Membership, and Communications, we proudly placed 29th out of hundreds of chapters, showing our hard work!
Beyond the Conference: Exploring New Orleans
When we weren’t in sessions or competing, we embraced the energy, history, and flavor of New Orleans. From beignets at Café du Monde to live jazz on Frenchmen Street, we soaked up the city’s one-of-a-kind culture. Some chapter favorites included:
Walking through the French Quarter - Colorful buildings, street performers, and iconic balconies made every stroll an adventure.
Trying authentic cuisine, including po’boys, and popular among locals, Willie's Chicken Shack.
Bringing It All Back to MSU
We left New Orleans inspired, motivated, and full of new ideas to elevate our chapter. The connections we made, the skills we gained, and the memories we shared will drive us forward as we implement what we learned in the coming year.

Incredibly grateful to have been a part of this group!
